The journey behind WeDoo and our mission to create a special place for the Down syndrome community
WeDoo was born from a place of love, family, and the desire to create a space where everyone belongs.
I'm AJ Langlois, the founder of WeDoo. Growing up alongside my brother Chris, who has Down syndrome and is now 38 years young, I witnessed firsthand both the joy he brings to our family and the challenges he faces in connecting with others in meaningful ways.
Chris taught me that people with Down syndrome have the same desires we all share – to be seen, to belong, to laugh, to love, and to build friendships that last a lifetime. Yet the digital world that brings so many of us together isn't always built with everyone in mind.
That's why I created WeDoo – a social platform specifically designed for individuals with Down syndrome. A place where Chris and others like him can experience the richness of online community in a space that truly understands and celebrates them.
We're committed to fostering:
As a cybersecurity professional, I built WeDoo with security as the absolute foundation of everything we do. This isn't just another social platform – it's a platform I created for my brother and for people I care deeply about.
Our security approach includes:
Every feature, from our messaging system to our photo sharing, has been designed with both security and accessibility in mind.
WeDoo is more than an app – it's a movement toward a more inclusive digital world. We're creating a space where people with Down syndrome can find community, friendship, and love on their own terms.
Whether you're a potential user, a family member, a guardian, or someone who simply believes in our mission, we welcome you to join us on this journey.
Together, we're building a world where everyone belongs.
"I created WeDoo because I believe my brother Chris deserves a place where he can be fully himself – where his warmth, humor, and capacity for connection are celebrated. Everyone deserves that feeling of belonging."
